Airmar Scholarships is a 501 © 3 non-profit which facilitates providing academic scholarships to students seeking degrees as Avionics and aircraft maintenance Technicians. Scholarships are funded by partner avionic companies who participate in a donation program to assist in funding the education of the technicians of tomorrow. Companies assist with donated used equipment, which is collected and monetized to fund educational requirements that feed Bench, Line and System techs back into the industry. The scholarships are funneled through the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA), which provides an application process for aspiring Avionics Technicians. Scholarships are available to both high school seniors or college students seeking to attend or attending an accredited school in an avionics or an aircraft maintenance program. Applicants are required to submit an application and meet minimum standards in order to qualify for available funds. Recipients also agree to provide their contact information to supporting companies in exchange for the companies sponsorship participation. This provides for feedback into the industry that the companies are themselves participating in. Participating companies are supporting, developing and employing the future aircraft technicians that are needed to keep general aviation aircraft safe and flying.
